I have been involved with the study of human movement my entire life and have been a personal trainer and manual therapist for the last 13 years helping clients from all walks of life. My focus and passion is injury mitigation using strength training combined with specific mobility and soft tissue work to rehabilitate musculoskeletal disorders and movement dysfunction.

I especially enjoy helping others integrate mobility, flexibility, neurological function, pre/post-rehabilitation, and maintaining a well-balanced movement practice into their health and fitness regiment.

I have worked with professional athletes, weekend warriors, and those who simply want to focus on health and longevity.

About me: I started my own “training” at a very young age participating in Karate, reaching black belt by the age of 10. That introduction to martial arts then progressed to a variety of sports including swimming, cycling, cross country running, soccer, and also ballroom dancing. I am a graduate of Humboldt State University where I continued my athletic career in rugby, rowing, and triathlons while earning my BS in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Exercise Science.

I formed Resilient Body in 2020 after many years as a coach and athlete to help others in their health and fitness journey and learn how our bodies are truly our most important asset. My passion is guiding people in finding their own innate strengths and resilience; and how that translates to and enriches the rest of their life. From my experience, there is too much noise, complexity, misinformation, recycling of trends and distraction away from the basics that work. This makes it difficult to be in touch with what truly makes people healthy and happy and not what someone else tells them that is or should be. I use a simple and sustained approach to be maximally effective. It’s the basics consistently done well that drive the most change.

As a holistic health and fitness coach I help people connect all aspects of their life that help them grow and flourish. I specialize in using a combination of mixed modal strength and conditioning, habit based lifestyle coaching focused on behavior change, and healthy habit formation guided by self-directed exploration so you can do things empowered by and for yourself. I will educate and help you find the best path for you that you can always make your own adjustments to using that knowledge. It’s not about grinding for a month transformation, but what is sustainable for a lifetime.

My background is in the research and clinical sides of health psychology and cognitive neuroscience, graduating from UC Davis with a BS in psychology and biology. I have worked in many labs and clinics in the pursuit of a masters/PhD degree, but in that pursuit I realized that it was the connection between mind, body, and health; and helping others explore this connection individually that was my passion, rather than conducting research in academia.

I have always loved sports, athletics and all things physical, growing up as a competitive gymnast and skateboarder. I have also pursued and competed in other physical endeavors including Hawaiian long distance outrigger canoe racing, swimming, water polo, triathlons, martial arts, rock-climbing, yoga, CrossFit, body building, and weightlifting.

As a lifelong athlete and ordinary human, I have sustained my fair share of set-backs from poor and misinformed nutrition habits, addiction, depression and anxiety, and some significant injuries and ailments. These have all helped me better understand and serve others.
